FUCIS serves adults (18 and older) with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are enrolled with a regional center in Los Angeles or Riverside County and have an active Individual Program Plan (IPP) that includes day program or employment services.

Contact your regional center service coordinator and ask for a referral to FUCIS. Your coordinator will review your IPP and, if appropriate, authorize services. You can also contact us directly and we'll help guide you through the process.

Availability varies by program and location. Contact our intake team to check current availability and get on our waitlist if needed. We do our best to accommodate new participants as quickly as possible.

Currently, our primary service areas are Los Angeles and Riverside counties through Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center and Inland Regional Center. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.

FUCIS offers day program services including job readiness training, self-advocacy, community integration, health and safety education, employment services (job development, coaching, placement), and support for the Self-Determination Program (SDP).

Program schedules are individualized based on each participant's IPP and goals. Most participants attend 3–5 days per week. We work with families and regional center coordinators to find a schedule that works best.

Transportation is not provided directly by FUCIS. We work with participants and families to identify transportation options, including regional center-funded transportation, public transit training, and community resources.

SDP is a voluntary alternative to traditional regional center services that gives participants an individual budget to purchase the supports they choose. FUCIS provides person-centered planning and coaching to help SDP participants make the most of their budget.

Our participants work in a wide range of industries including retail, food service, office administration, healthcare support, warehousing, and more. We focus on competitive integrated employment — real jobs in real workplaces alongside non-disabled coworkers.

The timeline varies depending on the individual's goals, skills, and the local job market. On average, participants move from assessment to placement within 3–6 months. We don't rush the process — finding the right fit matters more than speed.

It depends on how much you earn and your specific benefit situation. Our team provides benefits counseling to help you understand the impact of employment on your benefits before you start working. We want you to make an informed decision.

Families are welcome and encouraged to participate in program planning, IPP meetings, and regular check-ins. We believe family involvement is a key ingredient in each participant's success.

We provide regular progress updates to families and regional center coordinators. You can also contact your participant's support team directly at any time with questions or concerns.

We work closely with regional center coordinators, healthcare providers, and behavior support specialists to ensure participants with complex needs receive appropriate support. Please share any relevant information during the intake process.
